In recent months I have noticed a small number of communities start that are around topics that for me are problematic and that I don’t want to be part in helping move to the Fediverse. So, I have included the following on the Terms of Service under “I will also not accept Mastodon servers that are mainly used for the following activities”:
Spreading falsehoods, alternative facts, anecdotal evidence, prejudice or bias towards a social group, inciting violence, circular reporting, shock provoking content, conspiracy theories, dark patterns, deepfakes, disinformation, misinformation, sensationalism, truthiness, propaganda, rumours, hoaxes, urban myths, pseudoscience, post-truth and opinion pieces or interviews that convey any of the previous.
Also, I have decided to move Masto.host service to be provided in name of my company WAP – Web Access Platforms, Unipessoal, LDA. This is a single person company, owned by me and where I am the only person that works for the company. To be clear, under Portuguese law a “Unipessoal LDA” company can only have one owner and there can be no other shareholders. The reason for this change is both to simplify dealing with taxes and to protect myself personally in terms of any legal problems that may arise in the future.
The Privacy Policy had the following changes:
Old: Masto.host is a service single-handedly provided by Hugo Gameiro. This is a personal project that aims to help make running a Mastodon instance easily accessible.
Updated: Masto.host is a service provided by WAP – Web Access Platforms, Unipessoal, LDA. This is a one-person-company, owned and administrated by Hugo Gameiro. This is a project that aims to make running a Mastodon instance easily accessible. It is only I, Hugo, that work on this company and that will conduct, single-handedly, the provision of this service.

Old: Although you use my services as a Data Controller, by hiring me to provide this service, you also have rights as a data subject.
Updated: Although you use my services as a Data Controller, by using the service you also have rights as a data subject (regarding these, WAP is placed as Data Controller).
The Terms of Service had the following change:
Old: This service is offered by Hugo Gameiro and I am the only person that will have access to your data.
